<p class="mailingstyle">Dear Friends of the Gallery,</p>
<p class="mailingstyle">During the month of June we are happy to
present new work from Stan Bowman and Elisabeth Gross-Marks at the
State of the Art Gallery. This show marks a departure from their
previous styles and the emergence of some exciting new directions for
both artists. </p>

<p class="mailingstyle">Stan Bowman's work begins with
scanned flower images, digitally manipulated in Photoshop. His most
recent pieces are then printed on canvas and shaped into
three-dimensional compositions. </p>
<p class="mailingstyle">Elisabeth Gross-Marks' brilliantly
colored abstract paintings have evolved into equally colorful collages
and free-standing installations. "I am interested in putting the
colorful shapes in space," she says, "where the distance and the
connections to each other are important and where a playful scene is
created." </p>
