When I work in my studio I am on a quest for three things.
1. Concept and Metaphor: My subjects consider how we interact with each other and the various environments in which we exist.
2. Construction: I look for ways to combine different materials into an object. I construct using some combination of wood, metal, wire, canvas, plaster, paper and found objects. I want my work primitive, obviously made by hand, so I use visible connections between materials such as sewing or nailing.
3. Color: Paint can create illusion on the dimensioned, physical object. I use acrylic paint to generate energy through color interactions and rhythms.
